Upstage acquires AI agent platform Timely

Upstage said on June 9 it has acquired Timely, a generative AI multi-platform company that operates the TimelyAI platform for building AI agents without coding. The signing ceremony was held at Upstage’s Gangnam office with executives and key employees from both companies attending. TimelyAI integrates functions such as prompts, image and video generation and document conversion across large language models. Upstage plans to expand its AI agent business using TimelyAI equipped with its Solar model.

SK Broadband integrates AI into local news, channel rank jumps 32 places

SK Broadband said on Wednesday it has introduced its in-house artificial intelligence broadcast production solution, B tv AI Studio, to its local channel ch B tv to establish an hourly news system. The company said the system shifted local news from one to two evening bulletins to hourly scheduling on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 a.m. the next day. It said ratings rose and the channel’s rank within B tv cable climbed 32 places.

Platforms step up election information to curb falsehoods and comment abuse

With the June 3 nationwide local elections nearing, major platforms including Naver, Daum and TikTok are strengthening systems to provide election information and respond to false information and comment abuse. They are focusing on upgrading AI-based detection and linking users to authoritative election information, while differing in how they structure special pages and enforcement. Naver is limiting comments on political stories. Daum is adding AI-driven features and abnormal-pattern detection. TikTok is building an in-app election center and labeling AI-generated content.
