Pentasystem partners with EDB to target sovereign AI with EDB PostgreSQL database

Pentasystem Technology said on June 8 it signed a partner agreement with data platform company EDB. The company said EDB PostgreSQL is a data platform with enterprise-grade performance and stability, supporting high performance, high availability, replication, backup and recovery, and security functions. Pentasystem plans to expand into an open-source-based enterprise integrated data platform business, target demand for alternative databases driven by rising costs, and broaden cooperation to cloud, AI and data warehouse-linked projects.

Microsoft Fabric aims to be data platform for AI agents, targeting Snowflake and Databricks

Microsoft unveiled three new products at its Build 2026 conference to strengthen data infrastructure for AI agents. Fabric CTO Amir Netz said enterprise AI needs a “context layer” to operate reliably. Microsoft introduced Azure HorizonDB, a fully managed PostgreSQL-compatible database in public preview. It will add Nvidia GPU acceleration support to Fabric Data Warehouse in an early access preview in July 2026. Microsoft also launched Fabric IQ to define business concepts and boundaries for AI agents.

Snowflake steps up strategy to run AI work inside its data platform

Snowflake is speeding up a strategy aimed at keeping AI work inside its own platform rather than sending data out to external AI systems. Moves in that direction include a $200 million partnership with OpenAI, the acquisition of Observe AI and the unveiling of Project Snowwork. Snowflake has also integrated Google’s Gemini model into its CortexAI inference service and introduced Snowflake Postgres for AI agents.
