Pentasystem Technology, a company specialising in enterprise solution supply and IT service consulting, said on June 8 it signed a partner agreement with data platform company EDB.
The company said EDB PostgreSQL (PostgreSQL) is a data platform with enterprise-grade performance and stability. It supports high performance, high availability (HA), replication, backup and recovery, and security functions.
Pentasystem plans to expand its business scope into an open-source-based enterprise integrated data platform business, starting with the domestic partner agreement for EDB PostgreSQL.
It plans to focus on the alternative database market as a strategy to secure reference sites, as companies face higher costs due to policy changes for existing DBMS products and seek both cost efficiency and stability.
The company also plans to broaden its business scope by identifying cloud and AI and data warehouse (DW) linked projects. It aims to keep expanding the scope of cooperation into an integrated data platform business that includes high availability (HA) and backup and recovery environments.
Pentasystem Chief Executive Jong-jun Jang (장종준) said it will combine EDB's technology, which has been proven in global markets, with Pentasystem's system implementation know-how certified through customer references across various industries. He said it will offer customers improved performance and cost savings, raise its share in the alternative DBMS market in the public, finance and manufacturing sectors, and become a key partner leading customers' successful digital transformation.
