They are accelerating development and commercialisation of “physical AI”, which perceives real-world environments and takes actions through robots or devices. SK Telecom is extending digital twin technology and pursuing robot data standardisation. KT is focusing on robot orchestration via its K RaaS platform and conducting industrial pilots. LG Uplus is linking voice-based AI to actions and testing network technologies.

Ryu Jae-cheol (류재철) says LG Electronics making physical AI bet to drive meaningful change

Ryu Jae-cheol, CEO of LG Electronics, hosted a North America Tech Conference in San Francisco on Aug. 29 to secure overseas R&D talent, the company said. About 100 participants attended, including PhD researchers from major U.S. universities and experienced R&D staff from big tech and startups. LG Electronics presented robotics, AI data center cooling and mobility as key growth pillars based on physical AI, and outlined data and manufacturing strengths.

Nvidia steps up physical AI push in robots and cars, works closely with Chinese companies

Nvidia is expanding beyond AI training chips into physical AI for robots, cars and drones, with the business reaching $10 billion in annual revenue, the Wall Street Journal reported. CEO Jensen Huang said the segment could grow tenfold within 10 years. The company is bundling chips and developer software and distributing open-weight models. U.S. curbs block high-end AI chip sales to China, but robot and auto chips remain allowed, with China seen as key.
