OpenAI to lease 10-GW Ohio data centre for 20 years; Nvidia to guarantee up to $105 billion in rent

OpenAI will lease for 20 years a 10-gigawatt AI data centre campus being built in Ohio, with Nvidia investing $1.5 billion and taking on a rent guarantee of up to $105 billion. SoftBank Group unit SB Energy will develop, own and operate the site. The project includes new power generation and grid investment, with phased construction starting in 2028. The deal also includes a loss-compensation clause tied to OpenAI’s lease.

LG to use Nvidia AI for humanoid, to unveil bipedal robot in 2027 Q1

LG will integrate Nvidia artificial intelligence technology into its humanoid robot development and plans to unveil a next-generation bipedal humanoid in the first quarter of next year. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding at Nvidia headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The robot will use Nvidia’s Jetson Thor along with Isaac GR00T and the Halos for Robotics safety system. The partnership also covers robot data and AI factory projects, plus mobility platforms based on Nvidia Drive Hyperion.

SK $500 billion, Samsung $200 billion: global AI deals unveiled

Around a San Francisco AI summit, South Korea unveiled government-led cooperation plans between global AI companies such as Nvidia, OpenAI and Broadcom and Korean firms including Samsung Electronics, SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group and Naver. Nvidia and SK Group disclosed a partnership intent worth more than $500 billion, while Samsung and Broadcom signed an MOU worth more than $200 billion through 2030. Nvidia and Brookfield also plan a $10 billion investment in Naver.
