Nvidia shifts to rack-scale pairing to ease AI factory bottlenecks
Nvidia is shifting its next-generation AI infrastructure strategy toward cooperation among rack-scale systems, moving away from single-device GPU specification competition. It plans to present five MGX architecture-based rack systems at GTC 2026 in San Jose, combining them into one AI supercomputer. Nvidia says the approach resolves context and decode bottlenecks at the system level by physically pairing GPU and LPU racks. It also adds a new CPU rack to meet rising agentic AI workloads.
