Perplexity opens \'Personal Computer\' to all Mac users
Perplexity has opened its local AI agent, \'Personal Computer\', to all Mac users, TechCrunch reported on May 7. The AI agent can access local files, applications, connectors and the web to handle multi-step workflows. The service was previously available via a waitlist for Perplexity Max subscribers when it was first unveiled last month. Personal Computer supports more than 400 connectors and processes data within Perplexity’s server security isolation environment.

A.dot, Papago enter global top 50 AI apps; ChatGPT ranks No. 1
SK Telecom’s AI assistant A.dot and Naver’s translation service Papago have entered the top 50 in Andreessen Horowitz’s “Top 100 next-generation AI consumer apps” report. A.dot ranked 39th in the web products category, the only domestic service to make the web top 50, while Papago ranked 43rd in mobile apps and Snow placed 48th. The rankings are based on January traffic data from Similarweb and Sensor Tower.

Amazon wins injunction blocking Perplexity AI shopping agent
Amazon has gained the upper hand in a legal dispute with an AI shopping agent. A U.S. federal judge issued an injunction blocking AI search startup Perplexity from accessing Amazon’s site without authorisation through its Comet AI browser, CNBC reported. Amazon argued the activity was unauthorised and posed risks to customer data security and its advertising system. Perplexity said it would fight the decision.
