U.S. crypto industry shifts strategy after Clarity Act fails, targets Senate elections

The U.S. cryptocurrency industry is shifting its focus from persuading lawmakers to intervening in elections after Senate legislation stalled. Coinbase-founded advocacy group Stand With Crypto released its first list of endorsed Senate candidates, backing Republicans in Ohio and Iowa and Democrats in New Hampshire. It said endorsements are based on candidates’ crypto policies, not party. Fairshake PAC launched a $30 million campaign targeting Sherrod Brown as overall crypto political spending nears $200 million.

Citibank Korea to replace chief executive after 6 years, taps Kim Kyung-ho as candidate

Citibank Korea has selected Kim Kyung-ho (김경호), a senior executive overseeing its corporate finance group, as the candidate to become its next chief executive. The bank’s executive candidate recommendation committee recommended Kim as the final nominee after a meeting held the previous day, the financial sector said on Tuesday. The next chief executive will be confirmed after approval by the board and a shareholders meeting.

Korea Post to offer services for all commercial and regional banks at nationwide post offices

From October, customers of Gwangju Bank and Busan Bank will be able to use deposit and withdrawal services and ATM services without fees at about 2,400 post offices nationwide. Korea Post signed a partnership agreement with the two banks and the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute at Gwanghwamun Post Office on Aug. 28. The deal completes Korea Post’s shared financial counter network agreements with 14 domestic commercial and regional banks.
