Citibank Korea has selected Kim Kyung-ho (김경호), a vice president in its corporate finance group, as the candidate for its next chief executive.
The financial sector said on Tuesday that Citibank Korea’s executive candidate recommendation committee held a meeting the previous day and recommended Kim as the final candidate.
The next chief executive will be confirmed after approval by the board and a shareholders meeting.
Kim joined Citibank in 2001 and has served as head of the large corporate finance department at Citibank Korea and head of the financial corporate sales division, among other posts. He currently serves as vice president of the corporate finance group.
Yoo Myung-soon (유명순), the current chief executive who took office in October 2020, won a second term in 2023 and led the bank for 6 years.
Yoo’s term ends on Oct. 27 and she did not seek a third term.
