U.S. Congress introduces bill to tighten chip tool export controls to China, targeting ASML DUV

The U.S. Congress has introduced new export-control legislation aimed at blocking sales, maintenance and technical support for semiconductor equipment to major Chinese chip firms, Cryptopolitan reported. The bipartisan MATCH Act would narrow access to key tools China cannot produce and extends restrictions beyond advanced EUV to older DUV systems, including ASML immersion DUV. The bill lists firms such as SMIC and Huawei and would press allies to strengthen rules within 150 days.
