Shinsegae taps Chung Yong-jin as E-Mart CEO, names record 36 new executives
Shinsegae Group on Oct. 23 announced its 2027 regular executive reshuffle, naming Chairman Chung Yong-jin as E-Mart CEO-designate and appointing Shinsegae Casa CEO Kim Hong-geuk to lead E-Mart while also serving as SSG.com CEO. The group also revamped its management strategy office and recruited new heads for several affiliates. It promoted a record 36 new executives, lifting the share of executives in their 40s to 18 percent.

Ncorea says Playdata students win top prize at 2026 KDT hackathon
Ncorea said a team including trainees from Playdata, an IT education institute it operates, won the top prize at the 2026 K-Digital Training hackathon. The team developed an AI vision assistance service to help people with night blindness and low vision walk safely at night, using on-device AI to identify surroundings and hazards on a smartphone. Ncorea also said it runs the Ncorea AI Campus and plans to open new camps in October.

Flitto supplies AI translation solution to key Olive Young stores
Flitto said on Aug. 5 it has supplied its AI-based interpretation and translation solution, Chat Translation, to key CJ Olive Young offline stores. The tool has been introduced at major locations in Seoul, Busan and Jeju with large numbers of foreign tourists. It is offered as a beauty consulting-focused version and a staff PDA app version. The solution supports up to 42 languages, Flitto said.
