OpenAI launches GPT-5.5 and Codex on Amazon Bedrock

OpenAI on Monday launched its latest AI models GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.4, along with coding agent Codex, on Amazon Web Services\' generative AI service Amazon Bedrock. The launch allows South Korean companies to use OpenAI\'s newest models in an AWS environment, with usage integrated into existing AWS cloud commitments. OpenAI said GPT-5.5 focuses on autonomous multi-step tasks, while GPT-5.4 offers better cost efficiency per token for large production workloads.

Now is the best era for developers - five requirements for \'renaissance\' developers

Amazon Web Services said at AWS Summit Seoul 2026 that the AI era is the greatest time for developers and set out five requirements for so-called renaissance developers. Amazon CTO Werner Vogels cited simultaneous innovation in AI, space and robotics and listed curiosity, systems thinking, clear communication, ownership and versatility. AWS Korea lead tech evangelist Seok-chan Yoon elaborated on the conditions and stressed developers must keep broad capabilities. AWS says agentic and physical AI expand possibilities, will keep investing aggressively in South Korea

Amazon Web Services highlighted agentic AI and physical AI as key themes at AWS Summit Seoul 2026 on May 19 and 20. AWS said AI is reshaping the software development lifecycle and expanding from the digital world into the physical world, and it is introducing new programs to support the shift. AWS Korea chief Ham Ki-ho cited domestic customer cases, while CFO John Felton said AWS plans cumulative investment of 12.6 trillion won in South Korea from 2018 to 2031.
