KT is supporting the execution of artificial intelligence transformation, known as AX, for companies in the Chungcheong region with global firms.

KT said on Thursday it held the 'KT AX Tour 2026 in Chungcheong' at Chungnam National University in Daejeon on Sept. 30 with the university and the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Association.

Participants included KT, Microsoft Korea, AWS Korea, Databricks Korea and KT Cloud. About 150 officials from companies and institutions in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong, including Chungnam National University, the Korea Transport Institute and Satrec Initiative, attended.

KT and its partners introduced industry-specific use cases of AI, AI agents, cloud and data technologies through 7 sessions. They also shared ways to execute AX that can be applied to key local industries such as manufacturing and defense.

KT introduced AX applications at manufacturing sites and cases of adopting 'KT Cloudflex' tailored to each company's systems and work environment. Microsoft Korea presented AI strategies to improve manufacturing productivity, and AWS Korea presented cases of cloud transition in the defense industry. KT and its partners also provided one-on-one tailored consulting for participating companies.

KT plans to expand AX programmes tailored to industrial characteristics by region to Chungcheong following Gyeonggi and Busan, and to continue widening touchpoints with local companies.

Sang-won Park (박상원), executive vice president and head of KT's AX Business Division, said each company has different data, systems and on-site challenges, making AX execution plans tailored to each environment important. He said KT would work with diverse partners to identify practical AX tasks and support execution through to implementation.
