Snowflake to hold Snowflake World Tour Seoul on Aug 27 to share AI strategy

[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Global AI data cloud company Snowflake will hold its annual Snowflake World Tour Seoul conference on Aug. 27 at the COEX Conference Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Snowflake World Tour is a global data conference held in 23 cities worldwide, and this year marks its fifth edition in South Korea.

At this year’s event, Snowflake will highlight ways to connect AI to tangible business outcomes based on trusted data and platforms.

In the morning keynote session, Bala Kasiviswanathan (발라 카시비스와나탄), Snowflake vice president of product management, and Soo-hyun Lee (이수현), a tech evangelist, will take the stage. They will introduce the data and platform Snowflake is providing for customer AI projects and unveil its latest AI features. Kyung-jong Lee (이경종), a managing director at KB Kookmin Bank and KB Financial Group and head of the Financial AI2 Center, will then present real-world application cases driven by Snowflake for data and AI innovation. Min-seung Kang (강민승), CEO of AI security startup Tynapse, which ranked in the top 10 for the first time in the APJ region in this Snowflake Startup Challenge, will also present use cases.

Right after the keynote, Snowflake will hold the 2026 Data Drivers Award, which honors innovative organizations and individuals changing the world using the data cloud.

In the afternoon, the event will introduce industry-specific success cases and run technical sessions across 4 tracks. Participants are set to include Neowiz, NEPES, Dining Brands Group, BankSalad, Spigen Korea, Amorepacific, NSUSLAB, Wemade Play, GS E&C, KT, Toss Place, Pulmuone and Featuring.

In the Startup Village, with 8 startups participating, companies that developed and commercialised AI services based on the Snowflake Data Foundation will introduce their strategies. In the Community Village, the Snowflake user group and AWS Korea User Group, Microsoft user group, Airflow, dbt Labs and the Bloom community will gather to share the latest technical information and enable exchanges with data and AI practitioners.

Jin-sik Lim (임진식), head of solution engineering at Snowflake Korea, said corporate AI competitiveness is determined by applying AI to actual work based on data and producing measurable results. He said he hopes the event will help South Korean companies find concrete directions to achieve practical business outcomes with AI and data.
