Neocloud market shifts as SoftBank and Meta enter
The neocloud market for AI-focused cloud computing is shifting as major players enter. SoftBank Group and its telecom unit SoftBank plan to start a neocloud business next fiscal year, renting AI computing resources to U.S. companies. Meta is also stepping up plans to use its data centres for cloud services. Nvidia is expanding support for smaller cloud firms that lease its GPUs. Nvidia’s unveiling of its next-generation upscaling technology, DLSS 5, at GTC 2026 has triggered a backlash among gamers, with criticism spreading quickly online. While Nvidia says the real-time neural rendering technology boosts realism by enhancing lighting, users say sample images look overly bright, sharp and artificial and can alter characters’ appearance and a game’s mood. Concerns have also emerged over high hardware requirements seen in early demos.

Netflix, YouTube tighten controls on AI-generated content to address copyright, low-quality videos
South Korea\'s Korea Information Society Development Institute said it published a report comparing Netflix and YouTube policies for managing generative AI content. It said Netflix issued guidelines for production partners, outlining five core principles including copyright protection and performer rights. It said YouTube has required disclosure of AI-generated or altered content since May 2025, with possible sanctions for non-compliance, and introduced monetisation limits for mass-produced AI content.
