Qualcomm introduces collaboration with 6 Korean startups at Industrial AI Expo

Qualcomm Technologies will take part in Industrial AI Expo 2026 and present technologies from startups built on Qualcomm platforms, it said on Tuesday. The company said it aims to expand its partnership ecosystem in industrial AI and automation. A QAIPI pavilion will feature six startups and five partners in industrial and embedded IoT. A Qualcomm Robotics Zone will demonstrate two robots using Qualcomm and Arduino-based components.

Mandatory disclosure of AI training data from government-backed projects raises questions over detailed criteria

South Korea is moving to require AI training data built or produced during government-backed projects to be provided through the national AI Hub platform. As detailed rules are drafted ahead of an April start, debate is growing over whether data obtained or further processed at companies’ own expense should also be subject to disclosure in joint public-private projects. Another issue is how authorities will assess requests to exclude data on grounds such as trade secrets, privacy or copyrights.

South Korea mandates linking government AI training data to AI Hub

South Korea is moving to require AI training data built through government projects to be linked and provided through the national data platform AI Hub. The Ministry of Science and ICT said amendments to the Framework Act on AI and the Data Industry Act passed a cabinet meeting. The bills also expand a one-window service that consolidates information on where public and private datasets are held. The measures would take effect six months after promulgation.
