[DigitalToday reporter Hwang Chi-kyu] Wigofair, an AI-based intellectual property protection solution company, said on Tuesday it was selected in a consortium for the '2026 AI transformation (AX) support program' promoted by The Wave patent law firm and Seoul AI Hub.

The program, led by the Seoul AI Hub Industrial AX Innovation Center, focuses on forming consortiums between supplier companies with AI technologies and demand companies that need to adopt AI. It aims to apply AI at actual industrial sites and connect the results to commercialisation and market expansion.

This year marks the second year of the program. A total of 51 consortiums, comprising 102 companies, applied in an April recruitment round, and 20 consortiums were finally selected.

Through the program, Wigofair and The Wave plan to advance Wigofair's AI-based automatic counterfeit-detection solution to fit patent law firms' work in responding to IP infringement. They also plan to apply it in the field and conduct a proof of concept (PoC).

The two companies said they expect that if the cooperation moves to the commercialisation stage, it will lay the groundwork for patent law firms to protect the brand value of domestic corporate clients in fashion, beauty and content more quickly and efficiently, based on intellectual property rights.

Wigofair plans to use the program to upgrade services optimised for the work of patent law firms or law firms and expand partnerships, including by identifying joint business models.

Wigofair CEO Kim Jong-myun (김종면) said counterfeit-response work at patent law firms is repetitive and time-consuming, but plays a key role in protecting corporate brand value. He said the Seoul AI Hub AX support program will help automate the work with AI together with The Wave and contribute to creating an environment in which domestic fashion, beauty and content companies can grow their brands with peace of mind.
