Douzone Bizon sets up AI governance secretariat with CEO Ji Yong-gu in charge

Douzone Bizon on Sept. 21 set up an \"AI Governance Secretariat\" to oversee companywide use of artificial intelligence based on the ISO/IEC 42001 AI management system standard. The company said the move is meant to respond proactively to the AI Basic Act that took effect in July and to establish full life-cycle management from planning to development, deployment and operations. It aims to obtain ISO/IEC 42001 certification as early as early October.

MSIT, BMCC to step up policy coordination, speed up Korea broadcast media telecom promotion agency

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Broadcasting Media Communications Commission are strengthening policy coordination in areas including AI, media, digital regulation and user protection. The two agencies held their first working-level meeting on Sept. 17 to follow up on a senior-level policy consultation. They will jointly discuss the planned Korea Broadcast Media Telecommunications Promotion Agency, terrestrial UHD policy and user protection in cybersecurity incidents, and cooperate on an evaluation system for incident-related user protection from 2027.

South Korea opens AI convergence innovation training center in Wonju to develop medical AI talent

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will train AI convergence talent needed for the digital healthcare industry by leveraging medical infrastructure in Wonju. The ministry held an opening ceremony on Sept. 17 for the AI Convergence Innovation Training Center in Wonju. The center aims to train 160 people this year through courses including data analysis, medical AI model development and robot control, and will expand training in medical data and robotics from next year.
