ADT Caps unveils Caps Store Solution integrating store operations and security

SK Shieldus\' physical security brand ADT Caps said on Aug. 6 it will launch an integrated operations service through its \"Caps Store Solution\" that manages store operations and security in a single app. The company said users can select only needed functions, including access authentication, kiosks, doorbells, lighting switches, temperature and humidity sensors and AI CCTV. Functions are managed via the CapsON app and also available on PCs.

Rebellions to supply large volumes of homegrown NPUs for public CCTV control

A South Korean neural processing unit (NPU) will be deployed for the first time at a public safety infrastructure site. AI chip company Rebellions said on Aug. 3 it won server infrastructure contracts for Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government and Ulsan Metropolitan City CCTV control centres under a public AI CCTV conversion project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency. It plans to deliver its server-type NPU, ATOM-Max, from August.

MSIT to adopt Korean NPUs in public CCTV for real-time disaster, accident detection

South Korea will convert public CCTV systems into AI-based monitoring using domestically developed neural processing units, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency said on July 28. It will spend 11.68 billion won this year, including 10 billion won in central government funds, to apply NPUs to about 18,100 cameras. Gyeongsangnam-do, Ulsan and Korea Expressway Corp were selected as users.
