October iPhone Duo launch in South Korea puts carriers\' Apple boost in focus

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series officially launched in South Korea on Sept. 18, intensifying competition among SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus for premium smartphone customers. The carriers are promoting subsidies, used-phone trade-in compensation and device upgrade programmes to pull in replacement demand. KOSPI outlook ahead of Chuseok: Rates, semiconductors in focus

South Korea\'s stock market is expected this week to digest interest-rate moves after the U.S. Federal Open Market Committee and shifts in flows ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Despite a hawkish stance, long-term yields have been stable, and semiconductor and AI-related earnings may support the downside. Thin holiday trading could lift short-term volatility. Over the past decade, the KOSPI has slipped on average before Chuseok but risen afterward, analysts said.

RWA market up 85 percent since start of year; tokenised stocks seen at 55 trillion won by 2030

On-chain assets under management in tokenised real-world assets (RWA) rose to $34.18 billion, nearing 5 trillion won, and were up 85.2 percent from the start of 2026, Binance Research said in a report cited by Coinpost. Bonds and money market funds remained the largest segment, while tokenised equities jumped 390.4 percent. Binance Research said market growth will hinge on on-chain utilisation of issued assets and forecast tokenised equity AUM at $61 billion to $987 billion by 2030.
