Broadcast Media Communications Commission, gender equality ministry join hands to eradicate digital sex crimes, protect youth

South Korea's Broadcast Media Communications Commission said it signed an MOU with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on Friday to build a standing cooperation framework for a safer digital environment. The two agencies agreed to strengthen support to prevent distribution of illegal filmed material and protect victims, and to cooperate on laws and systems responding to changes in the AI environment. They also plan steps to block deepfake sex crime content and bolster a one-stop, victim-centered response system.
