AliExpress says practical IT, desk interior items gain popularity in Korea cross-border shopping

AliExpress said on Jan. 27 that its analysis of Koreans' 2025 cross-border online shopping data showed key trends of spending for oneself and improving quality of life. By sales volume, stationery and office supplies were most popular, followed by digital goods, lighting and home appliances. Practical IT devices and desk interior items ranked highly, while demand also spread to apparel and automotive products.

SOOP to stage Cho Hun-hyun vs Yoo Ha-joon 'Sooper Match' on Jan. 30

SOOP said on Monday it will hold its original sports content 'Sooper Match' at 1 p.m. on Jan. 30. The match pits Cho Hun-hyun, a leading figure in South Korean go, against rookie Yoo Ha-joon, who broke Cho's record for youngest professional debut after 63 years. SOOP said the event is designed for a live platform combining broadcasts and real-time communication. Streamers Woowakgood and Ttoobi will take part in the coverage.

Musinsa to open first beauty select shop in Seongsu-dong in first half

Musinsa said on Jan. 27 it will open its first permanent beauty store in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong in the first half of the year. It will set up a beauty select shop at Musinsa Mega Store Seongsu, scheduled to open in the second quarter, with about 800 brands and specialized spaces by category. Musinsa Beauty said last year’s transaction value rose more than 50 percent, while its four in-house brands increased 120 percent. It plans overseas expansion this year.
