XRP derivatives selling pressure hits year high despite 70 percent surge

XRP is extending gains after breaking through key price levels, but the derivatives market is showing the strongest selling pressure so far this year. U.Today reported that Binance’s XRP net taker volume posted its biggest selling advantage of 2026. Spot markets remain strong, with altcoin market capitalisation rising by more than $183 billion, while XRP jumped about 70 percent. On Binance, taker selling advantage grew to about $96 million and open interest rose about 14.8 percent.

Cardano up 26 percent in August but death cross spotted on short-term chart

Cardano formed a death cross on a short-term chart in late August, with the 50-day moving average slipping below the 200-day moving average, signaling near-term selling pressure. ADA has risen 26.10 percent in August and is up 9.61 percent on the week, though weekly gains have narrowed as profit-taking spread across major cryptocurrencies. Traders are also increasing bets on possible rate hikes ahead of Jackson Hole and the Sept. 15-16 FOMC meeting. Separately, Cardano’s Leios throughput upgrade cleared an early milestone on a public testnet.

Crime-misused phone numbers to be blocked within 24 hours in system overhaul

South Korea's Central Radio Management Service will cut the time needed to suspend phone numbers used in crimes to within 24 hours from the current 2 to 3 days. It said it will fully overhaul the illegal-use phone number suspension system and begin full operations from Aug. 31. The agency built a system to identify carriers in real time and linked an API with the police task force system to streamline requests.
