The ministry operates four regional bases to support Korean cybersecurity firms entering global markets. The 2024 export value of the information security industry reached 1.87 trillion won, up 11.4 percent from a year earlier. Participants shared regional market trends, cooperation outcomes and challenges related to overseas expansion.

The Broadcasting Media Communications Commission launched an emergency investigation into Coupang’s account withdrawal process, citing concerns that the procedure may impose excessive inconvenience and potentially violate the Telecommunications Business Act. The commission said PC-based withdrawal requires at least seven steps, while app users must shift to a PC screen to complete the process. It is reviewing the issue amid a surge in withdrawal requests after 33.7 million account records were leaked and said it will take corrective action if violations are found.
