Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, led a Series C funding round of up to $1.4 billion for German robotics startup Neura Robotics.
The Block recently reported that Tether led the round with strategic and financial investors. The investment comes months after reports last year that Tether was considering a large investment in Neura.
Neura develops humanoid robots, precision robotic arms, autonomous mobile robots and service robots. It targets environments where humans and machines work together.
In addition to the capital investment, Tether plans to deploy its technology in Neura’s robot ecosystem. This includes Neura directly integrating Tether’s wallet development kit into its robot systems. Tether said, "To become fully autonomous robots, financial tools are needed."
Tether has been making active venture investments in recent years after generating large profits from its USDT stablecoin business.
