A KAIST team developed a semi-planar light extraction structure that improves OLED front light efficiency by at least two times while maintaining a flat display structure. The researchers said the approach accounts for the limited pixel size used in real displays and includes a new design method that directs light forward. The team said applying the design and structure together also works for flexible OLEDs and achieved more than a twofold efficiency gain in small pixels.

The Ministry of Science and ICT's Postal Service said it will run a New Year promotion for signing up to the Yellow Umbrella scheme through April 30. Small business owners who newly join at about 2,400 post offices can enter a draw to receive 20,000 won Naver Pay vouchers. Those who join together with a designated post office term deposit can receive up to 0.5 percentage points in preferential interest and an additional 10,000 won voucher. Some local governments may also provide monthly incentives for up to a year within budget limits.
