South Korea holds emergency meeting after Coupang breach, deputy PM urges prevention of secondary damage

The South Korean government held an emergency meeting after a breach at Coupang exposed about 33.7 million customer accounts. Officials said attackers exploited an authentication vulnerability to access names, emails, and delivery contacts. Payment and login data were not included. A joint investigation team began work to contain further damage, and authorities issued public security notices to prevent phishing. Coupang CEO Park Dae-joon apologised for the incident.
