LG Uplus and LG HelloVision will maintain their current chief executives in 2026. LG Uplus plans to accelerate AI monetisation and expand its data centre operations, while also addressing security risks. LG HelloVision aims to stabilise performance amid a sluggish cable TV market and strengthen rental services as a new revenue source. Both companies face operational and market challenges as they move into next year.

South Korea launched a joint public-private investigation after finding that a Coupang data breach affected more than 30 million accounts, far above the previously known 4,536 accounts. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission announced their response plan and said they will examine the cause and prepare measures to prevent recurrence. The commission received two breach reports from Coupang and plans strict action if safety obligations were violated. Authorities also issued a public security notice to prevent secondary damage such as smishing.
