Samsung Asset Management says KODEX securities ETF ranks No. 1 in one-year return among ETFs

Samsung Asset Management said on Sunday its KODEX securities ETF recorded a 292.8 percent return over the past year, ranking first among all exchange-traded funds excluding leveraged products. The ETF has also returned 99.4 percent since the start of the year. The firm cited a surge in trading following the KOSPI breaking above 5,000, expectations of record brokerage fee income, and securities firms’ shareholder return measures such as buybacks, cancellations and higher dividends.

KakaoBank launches AI invitation, says one sentence can set up a meeting

KakaoBank said on Sunday it launched an "AI invitation" feature to make setting up meetings easier. Users who have a group account can enter meeting information in one sentence, and the AI automatically creates the date, time and place as well as a meeting name, introduction text and images. Invitations are delivered through app notifications, letting participants respond and transfer dues immediately. KakaoBank will also run an event offering support funds and coffee coupons.

Bright Energy Partners secures 233 MW of BESS projects

Bright Energy Partners (BEP) has secured preferred bidder status for battery energy storage system projects totalling 162 MW in a consortium with Korea Southern Power in the Korea Power Exchange’s second 2025 central contract tender. The projects will be built in Haenam and Jindo in South Jeolla Province. Including an earlier 48 MW Jindo project and the 23 MW Jeju Andeok project, BEP’s cumulative central contract BESS awards reach 233 MW.
