China's DeepSeek nears 11 trillion won funding from Tencent, CATL; valuation seen up to 90 trillion won

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek is nearing the completion of its first external fundraising round since its founding. The funding is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan, while the company has been valued at close to $60 billion, reports said. Participants are said to include Tencent, NetEase, JD.com and battery maker CATL, as well as venture capital firms. Founder and CEO Liang Wenfeng plans to invest about 20 billion yuan of his own money.

Igloo Corporation wins KISA AI project to upgrade SOC with agentic AI

Igloo Corporation said on Wednesday it was selected to carry out a prototype development project under the Korea Internet & Security Agency's 2026 programme to foster promising AI security companies. The company plans to speed up advancement of its agentic AI platform aimed at building an autonomous security operations centre to respond to AI-based cyber threats. It will develop and upgrade detection, analysis and response AI agents and related workflow management and interfaces.

Bitcoin hits 9-week low, wiping out long traders as $1.83 billion liquidated in a day

Bitcoin fell to around $65,000, its lowest level in nine weeks, triggering heavy liquidations in crypto derivatives markets. More than $1.83 billion was liquidated across the market in a day, including $774.2 million in bitcoin long positions and $440 million in ether long positions, according to Coinglass data. Attention is focused on whether bitcoin can defend the key $60,000 support level, amid increased exchange inflows and rising volatility.
