[Digital Today reporter Yoonseo Lee] Ripple will hold its annual 'Swell' event in New York from Oct. 27 to 29 (local time).

U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Oct. 19 that AI-based money transfers and security verification for the XRP Ledger (XRPL) have emerged as key agenda items for this event.

Swell is Ripple's flagship event that brings together participants from traditional finance, crypto, academia and the XRP ecosystem. Ripple said 1,500 global decision-makers are expected to attend this year's event. Swell has been seen as a venue where Ripple has announced major products and unveiled partnerships.

Vito Tumas (비토 투마스), a senior software engineer at Ripple, wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "One week to go," and said technology driving AI innovation in mathematics can also be used for XRP Ledger security.

Tumas will join a session titled 'Proof Beyond Trust: Formal Verification of the XRP Ledger' with Dejan Cabrilo (데얀 카브릴로), a software engineer at protocol security firm Common Prefix. Based on cooperation between the two companies, they plan to introduce ways to mathematically verify whether the XRP Ledger's existing and next protocols operate as designed.

Ripple said xrpld, an implementation of the XRP Ledger, was developed based on C++ and already has large-scale testing and Antithesis-based fuzzing. It said tests can only find bugs revealed during actual testing and cannot prove protocol invariants are maintained across all inputs.

On Oct. 28, a session titled 'What Happens When AI Moves Money' will be held. It will discuss agent-based payment architecture, including infrastructure to implement new protocols, digital wallets and machine-to-machine payments.

Participants in the session include Massimo Cervesato (마시모 체르베사토), Nilesh Dusane (나일레시 두사네), global head of institutional payments at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Henri Stern (앙리 스턴), head of crypto at Stripe and co-founder and CEO of Privy, and Edward Woodford (에드워드 우드퍼드), CEO of Zero Hash. Ripple presented, as the background for the discussion, a situation in which AI agents are beginning to move value autonomously while interacting with financial infrastructure.

This Swell is read as an event showing which agenda items Ripple is putting forward, rather than a simple technical introduction. With a push to strengthen XRP Ledger security and a discussion of AI payment infrastructure sharing the same stage, attention is expected to focus on how Ripple will connect related products or cooperation structures.
