KOSPI slumps nearly 3 percent on Middle East war jitters; foreigners extend selling streak

South Korean shares slid on March 30 as tensions over the Iran war rose. The KOSPI closed down 2.97 percent at 5,277.30 after opening sharply lower and widening losses early. Foreign investors were net sellers of 2.13 trillion won, while retail and institutional investors bought. Most large-cap stocks fell, led by SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics. The Kosdaq also declined and the won weakened against the dollar.
