IT information services company Hecto Innovation is launching pro baseball game outcome prediction platform Polyball, in line with the South Korean professional baseball league season.

The company said Polyball is a compound word combining "Poly," a prefix meaning diversity, and "Ball," which refers to sports games. It is a platform where users can predict outcomes of multiple pro baseball games while getting entertainment and benefits.

Polyball offers various mini-games, from outcome prediction games to guessing player records. If users get the correct answers, they receive entry tickets that can be used to apply for a draw for various stadium seats, from home-team cheering sections to premium table seats. Users can use the entry tickets to apply for ticket exchange vouchers for the pro baseball games they want.

Ticket exchange vouchers provided through a draw are issued in the form of NFTs to a "Polyball wallet" that is automatically created on signup. To prevent ticket resales, the vouchers can be exchanged for physical tickets at designated GS25 convenience stores from 2 hours before the game on the day of the match.

Hecto Innovation has built a digital asset wallet into the Polyball app to lay the groundwork for upgrading it into various services in the future. The company is internalising wallet technology and nurturing wallets as a new growth engine after acquiring blockchain wallet technology infrastructure company Hecto Wallet One last year. The wallet built into Polyball uses Hecto Wallet One's enterprise digital wallet deployment service Octet to provide a safe and reliable wallet environment.

Hecto Innovation plans to expand beyond pro baseball into other sports. It also plans to upgrade the platform to cover various content areas such as politics, the economy and culture, aiming for a platform comparable to the world's largest prediction market platform Polymarket.

Nam Young-kwang (남영광), Polyball project manager, said, "Polyball is a new-concept platform that adds bold benefits, allowing users to enter draws for in-person tickets to the fun of predicting outcomes, as Korea enters an era of 12 million pro baseball spectators." He added, "We will add various content within the app and evolve into a service that brings enjoyment to users." Nam said the company will actively discover new services and business opportunities by using NFT technology, which cannot be forged or tampered with, and a digital asset wallet.
