Bitcoin seen recovering in second half of 2026; bear market may end sooner than expected

Market-making firm Wintermute released an updated analysis of the bitcoin market, saying the decline below $80,000 was a delayed risk-off move caused by multiple macro factors and leverage liquidations. It cited falls in the Magnificent Seven, expectations around a Fed chair appointment and precious-metals outflows. Wintermute said the crypto market is clearly in a bear market, but argued this downturn is organic deleveraging rather than structural failure and could end sooner if no forced bankruptcies occur.
