Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net daily inflow of $189.3 million, bringing cumulative net inflows in August close to $951 million.
On Aug. 19, blockchain outlet Cointelegraph reported that Ethereum spot ETFs also saw a net inflow of $71.5 million on the same day.
The inflows followed $297.6 million the previous day, extending to a second straight day. The two-day net inflow totaled $487 million, more than half of the total amount that has entered so far this month.
By product, BlackRock's IBIT (iShares Bitcoin Trust) attracted $143.6 million in a day, accounting for the largest share. Fidelity's WBTC (Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund) also saw an inflow of $23.9 million. With major flows concentrated in products from large asset managers, they effectively led the recent rebound.
Ahead of the rebound, Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded net outflows for three straight trading days from Aug. 12 to Aug. 14. About $250 million left during that period. With inflows continuing over the past two days, the monthly trend tilted back into positive territory.
On a cumulative basis, net inflows into Bitcoin spot ETFs were tallied at about $52.28 billion. Total net assets stood at about $79.3 billion, showing that the Bitcoin spot ETF market has still maintained large-scale funds even after going through a mid-term correction phase.
Ethereum spot ETFs showed the same trend. They posted a daily inflow of $71.5 million, and cumulative net inflows in August rose to about $345 million. As money flowed into Ethereum-related products as well as Bitcoin, investment demand across crypto ETFs appears to be continuing.
Spot prices moved in tandem with ETF flows. Bitcoin rose 7.28 percent over the past 24 hours, returning to the $69,000 range, and Ethereum climbed 18.28 percent over the past 24 hours to around $2,240.
Against this backdrop, the market's next focus is whether monthly net inflows will exceed $1 billion. Cumulative inflows into Bitcoin spot ETFs this month have already risen to $951 million. With money returning quickly even after three straight trading days of outflows in mid-month, whether inflows led by large asset managers continue is expected to determine the short-term trend.
