LG Uplus said on Wednesday it launched an integrated building management solution, AI Buildingnet by ixi, targeting senior care facilities, residences, offices and commercial buildings.
AI Buildingnet by ixi is a solution that links various Internet of Things (IoT) devices in buildings, such as sensors, closed-circuit television (CCTV) and robots, with AI to collect and analyse data in an integrated manner. Based on the analysis, it supports improved operational efficiency and user convenience.
LG Uplus also introduced a senior care solution, Wellness Note, based on AI Buildingnet by ixi. Wellness Note uses AI to analyse in real time information collected from care IoT devices such as health monitoring sensors, and continuously monitors residents' health. It supports quickly identifying abnormal signs or unexpected situations.
It integrates and analyses health data secured from each device to check individual living patterns and changes in health conditions. It also provides functions to increase the work efficiency of facility staff. Administrators can use a dedicated app to check in real time the status of task assignments by resident, whether tasks are completed and handover items.
LG Uplus is currently running a pilot of Wellness Note at Solace Home Misa, a premium nursing home operated by Shinhan Life Care.
LG Uplus also uses AI Buildingnet by ixi in building safety and security, and space management. It links access systems and location recognition sensors to identify space-by-space usage and congestion in real time, and supports control of unauthorised access, detection of abnormal stays and responses to emergency situations.
It also links in-building communications networks, business systems and IoT devices to analyse stay patterns by space and the operating status of facilities. The company said it can automatically control lighting and heating, cooling and ventilation equipment according to actual usage to reduce energy consumption and make facility management staffing, such as cleaning and inspections, more efficient.
LG Uplus plans to expand links between AI Buildingnet by ixi and various IoT devices and external services. It plans to broaden its applications from senior care facilities to residences, offices and commercial buildings.
Joo Eom-gae (주엄개), an executive director in charge of LG Uplus' wired business, said, "Through AI Buildingnet by ixi, we will provide care, safety and space solutions in stages and establish ourselves as a specialised partner that can provide integrated offerings from networks to platforms, devices and operational services." He added, "We will develop it into an AI service that supports operational innovation across diverse spaces."
