Mirae Asset Securities draws 4 trillion won into retirement pensions, about 33 percent of market

Mirae Asset Securities said on Wednesday that 4 trillion won in retirement pension reserves flowed in during the first quarter of 2026. Financial Supervisory Service disclosures showed total new funds entering the retirement pension market reached 13 trillion won in the period, with 4.34 trillion won, about 33 percent, going to Mirae Asset Securities. It was the only provider to attract more than 4 trillion won in new funds.

Woori Bank tightens controls on dormant and closed corporate accounts to block mule accounts

Woori Bank said on Wednesday it will strengthen management of corporate accounts linked to dormant or closed businesses to prevent financial fraud and money laundering. The move follows an increase in cases where accounts in the names of companies that have ended operations are used as mule accounts. The bank will apply account limits mainly to closed companies as of late February 2026 and may lift restrictions after verification. It will also conduct on-site checks of higher-risk firms.

Foreigners net sell 43.5 trillion won in stocks in March, withdraw 10.9 trillion won from bonds

Foreign investors withdrew large sums from both South Korea's stock and bond markets in March, the Financial Supervisory Service said. They net sold 43.5 trillion won of listed stocks and made a net withdrawal of 10.9 trillion won from listed bonds, bringing the total to 54.4 trillion won. Foreign holdings at end-March totalled 1,900 trillion won in listed securities, including 1,576.2 trillion won in stocks and 323.8 trillion won in bonds.
