XRP Ledger (XRPL) payments have topped 650,000, with network activity expanding again.
U.Today, a blockchain outlet, reported on Monday local time that XRPL payments rose to about 658,600 and on-chain indicators also increased at the same time.
The key is that transaction execution indicators rose along with the payment count. Payments increased 47.8 percent, and successful transactions climbed 82.4 percent to 1.6 million. Total transactions also rose 59.7 percent to about 2 million. That suggests the network is showing a trend of higher actual usage rather than a temporary spike in a single metric.
Transaction density also increased. Transactions per ledger rose 59.7 percent to 99.12. Newly created accounts increased 20.7 percent to 2,300, and active accounts rose 12.7 percent to about 14,800. With both the number of network users and activity frequency rising, the recent expansion in XRPL is gaining weight.
In the short term, the market is watching 700,000 payments. That can be reached with an increase of about 6.3 percent from the current 658,600. After that, 1 million is cited as the next major milestone. But reaching that range would require a further 52 percent increase from current levels.
Payment volume, however, fell 60.8 percent to about 443.1 million XRP. That means the network processed more individual payments, but the average size of each transfer shrank. For this reason, it is difficult to view the increase in payment count as immediately meaning a larger amount of funds moving through XRPL.
In price action, the $1.35 area was presented as a key near-term support level. XRP is trading around $1.36 after a pullback following a sharp rise in August, and it is testing the 200-day moving average at $1.35. If it holds this range, it could reopen the possibility of retesting $1.45 to $1.50. If the support breaks, around $1.27, where a short-term moving average sits, is cited as the next downside area.
XRPL has shown a recovery in network activity as payment count and active accounts rise, but the decline in payment volume suggests it will take time to confirm qualitative growth. Key points to watch are whether payments move above 700,000 while payment size rebounds, and whether XRP holds the $1.35 support level.
