Korea carriers step up experiences and exhibition perks for May family outings

South Korea's three mobile carriers are rolling out a series of May events aimed at families, including forest experience programs, message banner promotions and exhibition offerings. SK Telecom is offering applications for a long-term customer forest outing and a free add-on service for parents passing used phones to children aged 13 or under. KT is running a message banner event and keeping a telecom history exhibition space open on holidays. It also strengthened network checks at about 500 sites. LG Uplus launched a mobile app for its IPTV service and plans a Lego-run event on May 16.

NatWest links homebuying services inside ChatGPT, including loan limit checks

British bank NatWest has started providing homebuying and mortgage guidance inside ChatGPT. Users can call NatWest's API in ChatGPT to calculate how much they may borrow, review repayment capacity, deposit conditions and mortgage rates tailored to their situation. Those seeking to proceed are directed to NatWest's own channels to book an appointment with mortgage support staff or begin a digital mortgage application. The move extends NatWest's strategic partnership with OpenAI.

KOSPI closes above 6,930 for first time; top 10 groups' market cap tops 4,000 trillion won

South Korea's benchmark KOSPI jumped more than 5 percent on Monday to a record close above 6,930 for the first time. The index ended up 338.12 points at 6,936.99 after opening higher and setting a new intraday record. Investor deposit balances rose to their highest level in about two months, while margin lending also hit record highs. The combined market capitalisation of the top 10 groups topped 4,000 trillion won.
