AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud and observability platform company New Relic held a FROM CODE TO RECOVERY event on Sept. 16 at Goose Island Brewhouse in Seoul's Gangnam district for domestic corporate IT officials. They introduced a scenario that automates the entire incident response process from code changes to service recovery.

The company said the automation scenario presented at the seminar consists of five steps: detection (real-time identification of abnormal signs), decision (AI analysis and approval), execution (automatic recovery to the previous stable version), verification (confirmation of normalization) and improvement (automatic recording of response methods and post-incident analysis).

New Relic links application, server and network conditions in real time to detect abnormal signs and automatically identifies areas suspected as the cause of incidents, helping those in charge more easily determine the cause.

MegazoneCloud said this can reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution) by up to 50 percent compared with existing levels.

MegazoneCloud plans to support customers so they can connect needed functions step by step by analyzing solutions and operational processes they already use. It plans to design automation scenarios reflecting each company's system architecture and security policies, responsible organizations and approval procedures, and to support a proof of concept to confirm integrated operational effects in actual customer environments, as well as an SRE expert diagnosis of operating environments.

Kim Hyun-soo (김현수), managing director of MegazoneCloud's SRE Solution Business Unit, said the biggest reason incident response is delayed is not the poor performance of individual solutions but the disconnection among different tools, responsible organizations and work procedures. He said the company presented an integrated automation approach linking the entire process from code to recovery as a solution to the problem that incident response remains delayed despite the abundance of good tools.
