Wonderful AI raises $150 million in Series B for AI agent development platform

Wonderful AI, a startup developing a platform for building AI agents, has raised $150 million in Series B funding, SiliconANGLE reported on Thursday. The round was led by Insight Partners, with participation from Index Ventures, IVP, Bessemer Venture Partners and Vine Ventures. The company was valued at $2 billion in the round. Wonderful AI offers a natural language-based software platform with low-code tools, simulation testing and post-deployment monitoring features.

Meta delays next-generation AI 'Avocado' launch until after May due to performance issues

Meta has delayed the launch of its next-generation AI model, Avocado, from this month until after May, the New York Times reported. The delay follows internal performance tests that showed the model trailing leading offerings from Google, OpenAI and Anthropic. The report said Avocado fell short of the latest rival models in reasoning, coding and writing evaluations. Meta executives are also discussing a temporary licensing option for Google’s Gemini for its AI products, but no final decision has been made.

KAIST president Lee Kwang-hyung withdraws resignation, to serve until successor appointed

Lee Kwang-hyung (이광형), president of KAIST, has withdrawn his intention to resign and will continue performing his duties until a new president is appointed. He said concerns have grown over delays in the selection process and the confusion caused. KAIST's board last month failed to appoint the 18th president after no candidate met the required majority. Lee said worries about a leadership vacuum increased amid legal revision discussions.
