[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] Cryptocurrency exchange Bitrue highlighted its history of supporting Cardano (ADA) as it marked its eighth anniversary.
The Crypto Basic, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Sept. 17 (local time) that Bitrue said in an anniversary post that Cardano had been with its journey from the beginning.
Bitrue is known as an exchange centered on the XRP ecosystem, but in its eighth-anniversary message it separately stressed its long relationship with Cardano. Bitrue said it listed ADA as one of the assets available for trading when it launched in 2018 and later moved early to support Cardano native tokens (CNT). The company claimed it was the first cryptocurrency exchange to list CNT.
Bitrue also said it introduced ADA as a base currency so other digital assets could be traded directly against ADA. It said it had also broadened its points of contact with the ecosystem beyond trading by taking part in the Cardano Summit for several years.
It also mentioned contributions on the technical side. Bitrue said it was the first centralized exchange to develop a Go library that supports Cardano integration. It added that it has also supported grassroots initiatives aimed at strengthening decentralization in the Cardano ecosystem.
Bitrue said it has expanded its support for Cardano across trading infrastructure, ecosystem participation, decentralization activities and technology development. The company said, "For 8 years we have been building the ecosystem together with Cardano, and there is still work to be done," and expressed its intent to continue supporting the Cardano ecosystem.
Still, ADA's share is limited in actual trading and holdings. Bitrue's 24-hour trading volume exceeded $446.82 million, but ADA trading accounted for only $977,221. Given that ADA's total daily trading volume is around $429.20 million, Bitrue's share is not large.
A similar pattern appeared in its reserve composition. Bitrue disclosed digital asset reserves of $181.58 million, of which ADA was $2.98 million, or 1.67 percent of the total. XRP, by contrast, accounted for 88.55 percent of reserves. Bitrue highlighted its relationship with Cardano around its eighth anniversary, but XRP still holds a much larger share in the exchange's current operating structure.
Bitrue's eighth-anniversary message is significant in that it reorganized its history of supporting Cardano separately from its XRP-centered identity. By presenting listing, trading infrastructure, technical integration and ecosystem participation together, it highlighted its relationship with Cardano.
