David Schwartz (데이비드 슈워츠), Ripple's former chief technology officer, has seen his XRP Ledger (XRPL) hub server become noticeably more stable over the past two weeks, with the number of connected peers rising back above 500.

U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Sept. 17 local time that Schwartz said he did not know why his XRPL infrastructure performance improved.

He wrote that over the past two weeks the hub became more stable and peer disconnects fell. He added that he did not know the cause but was back above 500 peers. A graph released with the post showed 501 active peers in the latest reading, close to the two-week high of 509.

The comment refers not to the entire XRP Ledger but to Schwartz's own XRPL hub server. A hub server maintains connections with many other servers participating in the XRP Ledger network. These peer-to-peer (P2P) links carry ledger data, transactions and other network information.

If a server repeatedly loses peer connections, an operator must reconnect. If disconnects decline, existing connections last longer, allowing a more stable operating environment. Schwartz's reference to "server safety" also appears to point to such changes.

That prompted a series of guesses in the community. One user asked whether he had a hypothesis for the sudden change, and another asked whether an artificial intelligence (AI) model was being used in the hub. Other users asked whether something like "Stablegeist" was at work, or which XRP community "Riddler" might be on duty.

Schwartz still has no definitive answer on the cause. The improved network connection environment has been confirmed in the figures, but it has not yet emerged whether it stems from changes to server settings, changes in external network conditions or other factors. For now, market and community attention is expected to focus on whether the stability improvement is temporary or can be sustained.
