Nationwide AI competition launches with 3 billion won in prizes, aims for 2 million participants

South Korea has launched a nationwide artificial intelligence competition aimed at letting anyone experience AI and build practical skills. The event offers 3 billion won in total prizes and will run from April to November, targeting more than 2 million participants. Programs are tailored for the general public, students, university researchers and vulnerable groups. The government plans to link domestic firms’ AI services throughout and support jobs and startups for top performers.
