Cybersecurity company Genians said on Sept. 30 it was selected as a 2026 Korea Best Workplace company run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Genians is also participating in a 2026 Gyeonggi Province 4.5-day workweek pilot project promoted by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Job Foundation. It has been running a pilot 4.5-day workweek since August.

The company said its participation goes beyond simply cutting work hours or expanding welfare benefits. It said the initiative started from companywide agreement that AI-based work automation and process reorganisation can deliver strong performance within the same amount of time.

Genians said it plans to strengthen recruitment branding, secure talent in next-generation IT and security, and step up efforts to create new jobs. It said it will use its participation in the 4.5-day workweek pilot and efforts to accelerate AI transformation as momentum.

Genians said it is expanding hiring of young people at junior levels to support jobs for youth and vulnerable groups. It said it hires based on capability without conditions such as educational background or gender. It also said it is taking part in support for parental leave and maternity leave.

Genians has pursued what it called an advanced workplace culture, including flexible commuting hours, working from home and a "Family Day" policy under which employees leave at noon on the third Friday of every month. It supports employee growth through training to strengthen individual capabilities, support for obtaining certifications, and support for costs of using AI services. The company said it reflects voices from the workplace into practical welfare through labour-management councils and practices labour-management cooperation and improvements in employees' quality of life.
