Apple begins hardware reorganisation under Johny Srouji to speed next-generation device development
Apple is reorganising its hardware organisation to speed development of next-generation devices. The company is strengthening links between its in-house silicon design group and product development teams to reduce bottlenecks and overhaul its development system. The move follows an executive reshuffle last month that expanded Johny Srouji’s role as chief hardware executive. Apple is also creating a new Ecosystems Platforms and Partnerships team co-led by Matt Costello and Kevin Lynch.

Ivy League schools bring back paper exams amid ChatGPT-era cheating
Roughly two years after generative AI became widely used, AI-assisted cheating spread quickly at Stanford University, prompting the school to reintroduce in-person exams in April after banning them for more than a century. Reports described students using AI in various schemes and in academic dishonesty. A campus survey of 849 computer science students found 49 percent would rather cheat than fail. Similar moves were reported at Princeton University.

TikTok works with election commission ahead of local elections, linking official information to election centre
TikTok is operating a cooperation channel with South Korea's National Election Commission ahead of the June 3 nationwide local elections and is boosting access to official election information through an in-app election centre. TikTok Korea outlined measures on election trust and fairness and its response to AI-generated content. The company said it combines automated detection and human review, works with fact-checker Lead Stories, and applies restrictions to government and political accounts.
