Wantedlab holds in-house AI agent hackathon

Wantedlab said on Jan. 13 it completed an in-house AI agent hackathon called 'Wanted AI Day,' where its developers designed AI agents and applied them to real work problems. The hackathon was held as the final stage of an AI agent training course that the company has operated since September 2025. Wantedlab selected six practical AI agent projects as award winners and plans to reflect them in services and internal infrastructure in stages.

Zipup Pay offers rent fee discounts through KT membership

Devdi, which runs the Zipup Pay rent card-payment service, said on Tuesday it has partnered with KT Membership to offer KT customers discounts on fees charged for paying monthly rent by credit card. Customers in all KT Membership tiers can use one discount coupon a month. The coupon can be downloaded through the KT Membership app and is applied immediately when paying through Zipup Pay.

Korea reclassifies battery recycling as critical mineral manufacturing

South Korea has redefined battery recycling from waste treatment to critical mineral manufacturing, creating a special industry classification and easing industrial park entry rules. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy aims to lift strategic mineral recycling to 20 percent by 2030 and will prioritise classified firms for a new 2026 support programme. Companies including POSCO, EcoPro and SK On are expanding closed-loop models that link material production and recycling, with the market forecast to reach 100 trillion won by 2030.
