Park Hyun-joo of Mirae Asset to donate all dividends for 16th straight year

Mirae Asset Group said on Sunday that its Chairman Park Hyun-joo (박현주) will donate all of his 2025 dividends from Mirae Asset Management. The donation marks the 16th straight year he has given away his entire dividend, bringing cumulative donations to 34.7 billion won. The group said the funds will be used for talent development programmes through its public-interest foundation. It added that cumulative social contribution spending by two foundations totalled 112.7 billion won as of end-2025.

Memory price surge could push smartphone prices higher, warning of record shipment drop

Smartphone prices could rise sharply again as surging memory prices lift manufacturing costs and intensify pressure to pass costs on to consumers. Memory prices have risen about 50 percent in recent months and are expected to climb another 50 percent in the first quarter of 2026, with a further 20 percent increase also being discussed by late June. A report projected premium phone production costs could rise by more than $150, and global 2026 shipments may fall about 12 percent.
