The Broadcasting Media Communications Commission formed its sixth expert review panel to verify pay-TV subscriber numbers and market share.

The commission said it held its 41st meeting in writing on Oct. 8 and approved three agenda items, including the appointment of members to the expert review panel for verifying pay-TV subscriber numbers.

The sixth panel will review the appropriateness of survey results before pay-TV subscriber numbers and market share are finalised every half year. It will also recommend improvements in verification methods and procedures to the commission. Members will serve from Oct. 8 until Oct. 7, 2028.

The commission also approved a revision to related rules to take over from the Ministry of Science and ICT responsibility for oversight of firms subject to emergency preparedness management, including system operators and providers of internet multimedia broadcasting services, known as IPTV, and satellite broadcasters.

It also approved orders for disposal for 36 broadcast sanction measures for which the Broadcasting Media Communications Review Commission reviewed and decided on penalties and requested action.
