Nous Research, which develops the open-source AI agent Hermes, has raised $90 million in Series B funding at a $1.5 billion valuation, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday.

Robot Ventures led the round, the report said. Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Samsung participated. Nous Research, now in its third year since founding, has raised a total of $158 million.

The Hermes agent is popular among developers and individual users. The company estimates Hermes has been cloned more than 24 million times. About 2.5 percent of global AI token usage comes from Hermes, TechCrunch reported.

Nous Research plans to use the funds to target the enterprise market. Its newly released "Hermes for Business" supports companies in adopting customised AI agents to handle multi-step tasks without exposing corporate data externally.

The Wall Street Journal said Nous Research's annualised revenue was about $36 million as of mid-September 2026. The company expects revenue to top $100 million by year-end.
