Kakao, which is pursuing a corporate spin-off, will disclose mid- to long-term growth plans for key subsidiaries and meet minority shareholders again through an offline meeting.

According to its investor relations briefing plan disclosed on Wednesday, the company will hold meetings on Oct. 13 for securities analysts and on Oct. 20 for minority shareholders.

Kakao will hold an offline meeting for securities analysts at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 at its Kakao AI Campus. The event will be hosted by Kakao. It will hold a Q&A session on its AI strategy and direction and announce mid- to long-term growth plans for key subsidiaries related to the spin-off.

A notable point at the meeting is that the mid- to long-term growth plans for key subsidiaries are included as a separate agenda item. Kakao held a board meeting on Aug. 21 and resolved to split the company into KakaoAI and KakaoX. It is pursuing a schedule to complete the split on Jan. 1 next year after an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on Dec. 17.

The analysts' meeting can be seen as going beyond explaining the structure of the spin-off and the background to its 추진 and presenting the growth direction of related key subsidiaries to the market. As it will address the mid- to long-term plans of key subsidiaries as a separate agenda item, it is expected to be a forum to explain to investors the growth direction of businesses linked to the spin-off.

This time, it will meet minority shareholders offline.

Kakao will hold a minority shareholders' meeting at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20 at Bulls Hall of the Korea Financial Investment Association. NH Investment & Securities will sponsor it, and it will combine an offline meeting with a conference call.

At the meeting, it will explain key details related to a governance restructuring and hold a Q&A session with minority shareholders. An online access link will be posted later on Kakao's website.

Kakao also held an online meeting for minority shareholders on Sept. 16, explaining an overview of the spin-off, the background to 추진 and expected effects. This meeting is a shareholder briefing arranged again about a month later.

Unlike the previous meeting, which was held online, Kakao has arranged an offline meeting to meet minority shareholders in person. After the earlier meeting, there were calls for additional shareholder communication, along with criticism that the Q&A focused on questions整理 in advance.

Kakao's labour union demanded an additional public meeting, saying that 14 of the 16 questions answered by management at the time were questions整理 in advance by the company and that only 2 answers addressed questions from shareholders at the meeting. Kakao did not separately explain in this disclosure any link between those demands and the holding of the offline meeting.

The minority shareholders' meeting is expected to be an occasion for the company to explain directly to shareholders details related to the governance restructuring ahead of the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in December.

Kakao said the purpose of the two investor briefings was to "enhance investor understanding of major pending issues". Presentation materials will be posted on Kakao's IR website on the day of each event.
